About Buddy
Intoducing Buddy ... we are seeking a foster care situation and or adoption ... please read below ...
Buddy is a desexed male 18mth old Border Collie.
Buddy does not like cats at all nor does he like any pocket pets of any description. Buddy's prey drive is high regarding these types of animals.
Buddy has had limited socialisation with other dogs so he requires a home whereby he is an only dog or with a female dog that is quite old and extremely laid back.
Buddy has lived in a family situation with 2 children and adores his humans and has been good with the children.
Buddy has been very well cared for by his family.
He is used to being alone during the day.
He travels in the car extremely well.
He loves fetching balls and ropes, but doesn’t like frisbee.
He can sit, drop, ‘turn around’, ‘paws up’ on your leg and shake hands.
He can heel when you walk him, with some reminding.
He will only nuisance bark if left outside with no attention.
He’s an inside/outside dog (free access to a dog door).
He’s not food orientated.
He will sit and wait for his dinner, and will not eat until you give him the ‘eat’ command.
He’s amazing with kids, extremely tolerant.
He likes to be brushed and tolerates a bath!
He loves raw carrot and pumpkin.
The environment that Buddy is needing to be rehomed in requires no cats, pocket pets of any description and something very similar to what he is familiar with. If you think that you could offer Buddy a temporary home (foster) or a permanent home (adoption) please email us. Previous breed experience is an advantage but not necessary.
Adoption details
If you are interested in one of our animals please send an email to rescue@btcanimalshelter.com.au and we will reply as soon as possible. Emailing or phoning us is the quickest way to get a response.
A questionnaire will need to be completed which will allow us to ensure we are placing our animals into the right home. Once the completed questionnaire is received, we will respond by email / phone call to discuss the animal in further detail, and answer any other questions you may have. Please note that completing the questionnaire does not place you under any obligation to adopt. We can arrange a meet and greet for you (and existing pets) to spend some time with the pet and see if they are likely to fit into your life.
If you decide to adopt, payment is made and you can welcome your new pet into your life!
