About Max 🐾
Introducing our very handsome, energetic, yet gentle Labrador Retriever....Max!
Max adores his humans, both small and large, but can get a little excited at times and will jump up on you when saying hello which is something we are working on. He's super friendly though and greets everyone with a tail wag. He has been tested both living with another dog and without and adapts well to either.
He loves to go for walks, and due to his energy level, this is a daily need. Since arriving in care, his carer has been walking him on a Halti due to him pulling with a leash & harness. Max is doing really well with this, although he does tend to get completely distracted when another dog is around, so this is something he will need ongoing training with.
Currently, Max is an outside dog and he's quite comfortable with this. He sleeps on his favourite chair on the covered verandah with his favourite soft toy, which he carries everywhere. He rarely barks and quite happy to spend time on his own while his humans are at work & school. He will sit on command, sits before eating dinner and gentle when taking food from your hand. Max is currently eating Royal Canin dry food and weighs just under 30kg.
Although Max is not a fan of being squirted with water, he enjoys a warm bath and overall, is quite a well behaved boy. He may like to help you bring in the washing at times, but hasn't put any holes in them to date! Max will need a family who lead an active lifestyle. He travels well in the car and would enjoy going on family outings. He has previously lived with another Labrador who he got along well with and lived with a small dog during his time in foster care, so either a home with or without another dog would be suitable. If you do have another dog and looking for a buddy for them, we will need the dogs to be introduced prior to adoption to make sure they both get along.
Max has had his 1st vaccination on 17th April and due to having no previous history of vaccinations, he will be due for his C5 vaccination on 17th May. He has been Desexed, vet checked & regularly wormed/flea treated while in care and in good health. He is currently in foster care in Killarney Vale on the Central Coast NSW.

Adoption details
If you would like to express interest in adopting, we ask that you send through some info about yourself, your family and home, if you rent or own (rental agreement required if renting and rates notice required if you own) and what you can offer this gorgeous boy. Our aim is to find the best homes for our babies, not necessarily first in best dressed, so a good detailed application will make you stand out from the rest.
Once we have received your email outlining the above, those who we feel may be suitable, will be sent an Adoption Questionnaire to complete. Your enquiry will then be passed onto the appropriate carer and successful applicants will be contacted via phone.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
