About Sid
Sid is a friendly loving boy who enjoys human company and is easy to have around. He is good with gentle children but could accidentally knock over small ones. He likes a shortish daily walk, a comfy bed and a garden to explore. Even though he likes being around people he seems to manage well if the humans are absent.
Sid is good with other dogs and is in foster care with a small senior dog. He could live happily with a senior dog that doesn't want to play and run around all the time. He needs to live in a low set house as stairs would be another strain for him. Sid will be a faithful companion.
Medical notes
Sid has some health issues including arthritis, ligament and joint issues. These require ongoing medical management including special food, monthly injections and daily medication. His weight also needs careful control, so measurement of his daily intake is important He has got to a healthy weight since he has been in care. This may sound daunting but he has stabilised well and is happy and active.
Adoption details
We list animals for adoption on Pet Rescue as well as on our own Animals-in-Need Website. We talk with people who contact about an animal to see what their needs and situation are. My emphasis is on getting the right animal for the people and the right people for the animal. If everyone's needs are met things usually work out well.
If the situation sounds good we arrange a meeting. If all goes well we let people try the animal out for a couple of weeks to ensure that everyone is happy.
We keep records of all adopters, follow up to ensure all is well and undertake to take back any animal if circumstances change.
