About Hume
Hume is the most overlooked dog at the shelter, however he is probably our most intelligent dog. And he's only 12 months old! :(
Being out with him in the yard this morning was simply a treat. He is a highly responsive boy who really wants to connect with you and to please. No, he doesn't chase balls. But he does pick up commands extremely quickly. Food motivated, he learns quickly and loves to do the right thing. You simply see the happiness in his eyes.
He may not be a pure breed, but he has the intelligence of one. So if you're a working breed lover, a Border Collie lover or Cattle Dog afficianado, Hume ticks all those boxes.
Yes, he gets along with other dogs. He has had a few successful meetings with other dogs and absolutely loved playing with them - running around, play bowing and bounding about like a loon. Bring your dog out to meet him - he would love that.
Hume has surpassed all expectations by becoming used to our office cat. He is now fine off-lead around our office kitty and the two of them co-exist peacefully.
Hume's perfect home would be one that spends time with him daily, exercises him, teaches him new things and rewards him for everything he does correctly. He does get restless if left alone in a yard for a long time, so may suit someone who is often around.
As Pet of the Week, Hume is now available to adopt for $150
