About Gemma
** MEET GEMMA **
This gorgeous 8 month old deaf Border Collie is an absolute heart-stopper. She has a beautiful personality, is incredibly loving and is so eager to please.
After a rocky start to life, Gemma has spent two months undergoing training and behavioural modification with our amazing friends at Above and Beyond Dog Training and Rehabilitation. It’s thanks to their dedication that we can now say that this stunning young lady is ready for the final step in her rescue journey - Gemma is ready to find her forever home.
Gemma has been taught all her hand signs for sit, drop, stay, and come. She is crate trained, mat trained and has great mealtime manners.
Gemma has lived with 12 other dogs of all different sizes and is good with other dogs provided she has a proper introduction.
Gemma is very affectionate and loves water and toys. She walks wonderfully on-leash so she would make a lovely walking buddy.
Like all of our dogs, Gemma has a specific list of non-negotiables that her adoptive family must meet. These are as follows:
• Gemma requires a home that is dedicated to continuing her training and to meeting her physical and mental needs.
• Gemma must be allowed to continue being an inside/outside dog.
• No homes with very young children.
• Gemma is NOT available for interstate adoption. She must remain in the Brisbane, QLD area.
If you meet all the requirements on Gemma's list and if you can’t imagine life without her pretty face by your side, please email us at austdeafdogrescue@outlook.com.
Gemma is desexed, vaccinated, microchipped and parasite treated.
Medical notes
Gemma is deaf
Adoption details
Hear No Evil's Adoption process:
1st Step * You contact us to obtain an adoption application, and discuss the dog of interest.
Once the application is completed and returned it will be assessed for suitability.
2nd Step * A Meet and Greet with the dog and all members of the adopting family and and current dogs is arranged where possible.
This usually coincides with a Yard check to ensure the safety and security of the property on which the dog will be kept. - We understand that this is not always possible in interstate adoptions and this will be discussed on your initial contact.
3rd Step *Payment of the Adoption fee in full. The dog is then handed over with any belongings, and all relevant paperwork and records.
Transport arrangements are the financial responsibility of the Adopting party. Hear No Evil are happy to assist with departure preparations and ensuring the dog makes its transport connection.
Final step * Once the 14 day 'settling in' period has ended, the change of ownership microchip details are submitted, and the adoption is officially finalised.
