CARMAR VIC PER: EE100443
Wilson has blossomed beautifully since coming into care. His fun loving and free spirited ways have made him a very likeable lad with his foster siblings. He’s usually the one goofing off, instigating play, stealing their balls and generally clowning around. This little guy is full of confidence! Oozing confidence, in fact! Not much wipes the smile from his smug pug mug!
Wilson quickly learnt the sit command when entering care. He is working very hard on his recall but he often would rather listen to his free spirited inner gypsy than his carer! He has made huge improvements with his lead walks and can keep his mind on the task for longer periods of time. With continuing positive reinforcement and positive attention Wilson will continue to develop into a fantastic furry family member. His compact size (10kg) makes him the perfect travelling, go anywhere companion!
Wilson prefers to be inside with his family and has certainly worked hard on his inside manners since being in foster care. When inside, toilet breaks are offered often just so he doesn’t forget where to go. He currently sleeps in the lounge room in a large crate when the household goes to bed. At the end of the day of he will happily take himself to bed or go to bed when it's time.
Wilson came into care quite lame and suffering from elbow dyspalcia. He is now well on the way to recovery since having surgery to allow him extend his front right leg so it can be used. He may always walk with a limp and never have full use of this leg but he will now live a pain free life which is all Wilson cares about. As long as he can run and wrestle with his mates and go for a walk with his people not much else matters to this guy!
We feel Wilson would best be suited to an easygoing forever home with another free spirited, fun loving young dog. He is good with cats but they would need to be dog tolerant.
If you feel you may have to pawfect forever home for this little man we'd love to hear from you.
Medical notes
Wilson came into care with a chronic front right leg lameness with reduced flexion to the right elbow. As Wilson had completed growing, 'salvage' surgery to relieve his chronic pain was performed by transecting the distal bicep tendon attached to medial aspect of the ulna. This surgery does not cure the anatomical problem only relieves the chronic pain and allows more use of the leg.
We have seen a great change in Wilsons use of his leg since the operation. The successful adoptee will receive Wilsons medical notes plus vet and orthopaedic surgeons contact details.
