About Evie ~ Husky x (on trial 1/8/19)
Meet Evie - a happy, sweet 1 year old girl! Evie is a medium-sized Husky x, and she has so much love for everybody! Cuddles and kisses are her favourite thing, closely followed by romping around with other dogs. Evie thinks playtime is the best thing in the world!
Evie is an energetic girl, and needs decent daily walks and some regular running-around time. She is fantastic with other dogs so the dog park or beach would be ideal for this! She pulls a little on the lead, because she really wants to sniff all the things, but she’s very controllable and with further training will be great.
We have recently discovered Evie is also good with cats, provided they don’t run away (Evie says ‘Yay! Chasey time!’). My older cat sets firm boundaries for her and she is very respectful of him!
Evie has had one eye removed due to being hit by a car when she was younger. This also left her with a broken leg and was a very difficult time for our poor girl. The other eye was a gorgeous blue colour, so we were doubly sad she lost this little piece of herself … She may also have some hearing loss on that side. This has not seemed to disadvantaged her much though, and it certainly hasn’t dampened her spirits!
Evie seems to be great with kids, and due to her disposition I can’t imagine her having any issues with them ... as long as they like kisses! Also, she can jump up when she’s excited so keep in mind that even though she’s not a big girl she may knock over the littlies.
Evie tolerates being left alone very well, after the initial fretting to come with you. As long as she has secure fencing Evie is not an escape artist, although apparently she has learned how to open sliding doors.
A perfect home for Evie would be one where she is loved and appreciated and there are plenty of cuddles and attention for her. Her forever people also need to be willing to give her the exercise she needs or she goes a little stir crazy. Saying this, Evie is not a runner’s dog due to her past broken leg, which she very occasionally still limps on.
She would love another doggy companion, but the other dog would need to have a playful temperament and/or be tolerant and willing to set boundaries with Evie, as she can be somewhat insistent when she wants to play, and this could be overwhelming for some pooches. I don’t believe a doggy companion is vital for Evie if she has enough human companionship and some regular dog playtime.
Evie will make someone’s life complete with her happy energy and unbounding love! All she needs is a little of your love and time and she will dedicate her heart to you.
If you are looking for a social and affectionate new best friend like Evie then please contact Olivia on horvat13@gmail.com Evie is located in Newcastle area. She is not available for long distance or interstate adoption.
Evie's adoption fee is $450 and includes her desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration.
Medical notes
Evie has had her eye removed due to glaucoma - her other eye is clear of glaucoma at this stage. Please consult a vet for more information on glaucoma. She broke her leg when she was hit by a car as a puppy - her leg has healed and doesn’t impact her at all now. However like humans, old injuries can cause dogs pain in old age or cold weather.
