About Harley
It’s difficult to imagine the misery of the days leading up to four month old Harley coming into care with us.
Huddled in a corner of an outside building at a school, left ear half torn off and a raging infection of the jaw, swollen to the size of an orange, shivering in 40 degree heat. Harley had been attacked by another dog and was left to his own devices, untreated.
The Rangers quickly got him to the vets where painkillers and antibiotic treatment began, then into care with us.
A nice warm bath to clean his wounds and wash away the stench from the ruptured infected jaw, that was all over him, really lifted his spirits.
If ever a dog was grateful for the help he received, it was this puppy.
It’s hard to describe Harley without sounding too mushy, but he’s just the most laid back, friendly, loving, funny and smart boy. Typical of the Great Dane breed, he has a sense of humour, always doing things that make you laugh. I know one Dane who puts her toy dinosaur on the kitchen bench - though Harley won’t grow that big.
Harley sits and is learning to wait for his food. He doesn’t jump on people. Leash walking in his harness was a breeze for Harley to master, staying on the left and not pulling. He loves the car and is wonderfully behaved while traveling. He goes to bed when asked and just loves his cuddles at bedtime (or anytime!)
We think Harley is Great Dane x Bull Arab, he will be a big boy (but not huge). We want a home for him where his training will continue - he would shine at puppy pre school.
He’s in care at Moree, NSW. Moree has daily flights to Sydney and further afield. Dog road transport is available each fortnight. Transport as far as Orange, NSW after Easter is another possibility.

Medical notes
