Hi there I'm the beautiful Maggi. I was surrendered to the shelter as my owners had no time for me and now I'm looking for my new home

I love, love playing fetch and will bring It back to you, it's my favourite game to play. I will go to my bed when I'm told and stay on there, so I will make a great inside doggie.

I will need a home with an experienced Dachshund owner or a very experienced dog owner. I can be very cute and love you most of the time but I can also be a bit of a snapper, especially when it comes to strangers and vets. I don't mean to but that's the dachshund personality in me and also being a little unsure of new people.

I will need a home with someone who is home with me a lot of the time but someone who is going to take me on outings so I can get used to the outside world and the humans in it. I haven't spent a lot of time with other humans except for my own so please be patient with me.

I get along ok with other dogs my size but no bigger doggies. If you have another doggie at home please bring them out to the shelter to meet me.
I can't go to a home with kids as I might accidently snap at them.

I can be a fussy eater so bear with me while I find something I like. Being a small dog I do have tartar on my teeth which may require a dental in the next 12 months, plus I also have a laxating patella which also may require surgery in the future if it gets worse. Please don't hesitate to talk to the staff about my health.
