About Rani
Rani was originally from SAFE Carnarvon, adopted by someone in Perth when she was just a pup. The adopters' situation changed and they realised they didn't have time for a pet, so Rani is back with SAFE through no fault of her own.
Rani came to us incredibly 'leash reactive', but is making great progress in a head halti. She is dog/people friendly even on lead, but gets *very* excited when she first spots them. Once she calms down she interacts well, even on lead. Any potential adopter will need to understand they'll be continuing 'puppy' training.
Rani's foster carers' first impressions are that she
is quite calm for a puppy, very relaxed around the house
hasn't had much formal training, and is new to leash training.
is intensely food motivated and wants to please.
will dig to bury bones, but not out of boredom
not destructive--ie not a chewer)
loves her toys!
is toilet trained, almost confident enough to push through the dog door now, her carers have it propped open for her :)
She's currently about 20kg, we think she may 'fill out a little', but don't think she'll grow to be much bigger.
