About Greg and Malcolm
Introducing Greg and Malcolm
Forever Friends Animal Rescue is on the hunt for a very special and understanding home for two special boys.
Step brothers Greg and Malcolm were put together along with two other brothers in the pound and during their early days in foster care they formed a very special bond. Always found to be hanging together.. either playing full on or snuggling and grooming each other. The bond they shared was evident and it was decided that they should be advertised as a bonded pair.
However things changed drastically for the pair when Malcolm had some complications post op after his desexing surgery and has since been left with an acquired brain injury. As such, Malcolm had some issues initially with sight, hearing and coordination. However, his spunk and confidence shined through and he tackled the task of relearning many skills like a champ. Malcolm has remained the smoochy and sweet boy he always was however with some new quirks. This time was confusing for Greg.. he didn't understand why his favourite mate couldn't play with the same vigour as before.. but as the weeks go by and as Malcolm's wee brain heals and regains many skills, the bond between them has come back. I would describe Greg as Malcolm's physiotherapist. Constantly pushing Malcolm and yet providing him with comfort and guidance. They share food from the same bowl, and can often be found exploring rooms and the garden together. Both boys are very people orientated also.. so will have loads of love to give to their new human family.
Greg is a awesome young man.. grey in his tabby-ness with a stunning apricot undertone. This mega smooch loves to cuddle, and is always down for a good chat. He will look adoring into your eyes for what seems like an eternity. Greg adores his feline companions so does need a home with another cat.. and with Malcolm he would be a great support and friend. Greg has met a cat savvy dog and is very loving towards the dog.
Malcolm is a classic tabby with the most gorgeous big eyes. This boy will literally smooch your face off - especially at night when he's feeling particularly "in love". Malcolm's acquired brain injury does mean that he will not be your regular cat.. he has some strange playing styles.. however, he is a happy and content boy who will need some extra care and attention when settling into a new home. As Malcolm is still young and his complications only happened mid March, his brain will continue to repair for a time - however never completely. He is likely to remain vision impaired to a degree and not react like normal when sounds are made. In fact the only real vision impairment he is displaying is with his depth perception. He can see an object but is just unsure exactly how far away it is. It does lead to some pretty cute actions. He does, however, eat, drink and poop in a box just like regular cats/kittens. And with Greg as a constant companion and play mate.. I know Malcolm will lead a happy and full life.
If you think you can provide a happy home for both these boys, we would love to hear from you. Due to Malcolm's vision impairments, a home without major stairs would be preferred.
Both boys are fully vet worked and ready to go. If you would like to know more about Malcolm and his condition, his foster mum would be happy to have a chat to you about his needs and abilities.
Medical notes
Both boys are fully vet worked and ready to go to their forever home. Assistance will be provided with any queries and concerns regarding Malcolm and his ongoing care.
