Duffy

Hello there. My name's Duffy. My foster carer says she's in love with me :) She says I have a beautiful nature. I'm very quiet too. I'm in foster care with children and I play with them and their dog very gently. I'm even gentle with my toys. When I did something wrong in fosterland, I thought something terrible was going to happen to me and yelped with terror. So I hope that whoever adopts me is very kind and does positive rewards training with me to help my confidence to grow. The vets think my mix includes daschund, beagle and Jack Russell - what a mix! Whatever it is, everyone thinks I'm very cute!

It's always difficult to tell what size a rescue pup will grow to, but SAFE thinks I'll be small when fully grown.

Want to know more about how you teach a pup to be a great dog? I'd like to do training every day so that I learn the commands of sit, stay, come, down, no, stop and leave it. And once I've learnt them, I need to keep practicing them every day too. That way I'll learn to obey what you tell me to do. Being consistent and clear with your boundaries will mean I always know the right way to behave. Getting out to exercise at least once a day (and twice for working dog breeds) is vital to stimulate my brain and body. It creates important opportunities for me to meet strangers, other dogs and other animals, plus it tires me out! Tell me "no" if I'm chewing something I shouldn't and give me a chew toy instead. I'd love to have a range of chew toys that you can swap around so I don't get bored with them.
