About Aurora
I first met Aurora when I called at a rural pound to collect two other surrendered dogs. The Rangers had just picked her up after being alerted by a member of the public of her dreadful condition, and that her owner had poured boiling water over her back.
I was shocked! She had almost no fur, and had crusty bleeding sores.
The Rangers door knocked the area to no avail, to try to find the owner.
I immediately put our rescue groups name on her and we got her to the vet. She was diagnosed with Demodex mange plus a bacterial infection and a fungal infection. She began treatment immediately of oral antibiotics and oral anti-fungal meds, plus a Nexgard tablet for the mange.
She travelled to me and came into foster care, with soft beds and healthy food, plus the obligatory lots of love!
Oh my goodness to see her blossom has been incredible! She is growing fur back nicely everywhere except the burn area (vets have said that will never grow back) and is obviously a Cattle dog mix, maybe with some English Staffy, as she is now so happy and ‘chats’ to you in that Staffy way.
These photos were taken in the last week or so, with a couple of her when I met her, just so you can see the difference.
She is playful and happy, and loves the other dogs she is in care with. She must have another dog as company in her forever home, but other than that, she just needs a home filled with love for her.
Initially, she was very anti-men, but now will happily approach men for a pat, wagging her tail happily.
She is probably a bit bouncy and exuberant for very young children, but older kids would be fine.
She is a great traveller in the car, and absolutely loves going for a walk on leash.
She is only a little girl (more English Staffy size) and only weighs 12kgs.
We are located in Moree, northern NSW. We have daily flights to Sydney and beyond, and fortnightly road transport. Both of these are easy to arrange at new owners cost.
Medical notes
Has had Demodex mange, and has been treated.
The hair loss on her back is a burn and vets don’t think it will grow back ever.
Weighs 12kgs
