About Jee ~ 3 year old staffy
Hi I’m Jee - Jee as in jee whiz I’m pleased to meet you ! I’m an almost 3 year old, incredibly handsome brindle staffy who is affectionate and determined to love you as much as you love me. I have a stunning brindle coat with red highlights, a staffy smile that spreads from ear to ear and a passion for sitting as close to you as a I possibly can (I'll keep your feet warm in winter!)
I’m an easy going kind of guy with a typical-staffy exuberance for life. I’m in foster care with 7 other medium sized dogs and I love hanging out with them. I’d really enjoy being adopted by a family with another well-mannered dog for me to bond and play with. I may also be OK as an only dog as long as I have lots of human company and am not left by myself all day long - I’m way too sociable to be isolated away from my humans. I have been known to get up to mischief (let's call it "redecoration") if I'm left to my own devices away from my beloved people all day long! I'd much rather be wherever you are - inside or outside.
I’m good with canine pals who are well-behaved and social like me - I do like to hog the lime-light at times but I'm getting better with training. My foster carer has been training me to share attention so I only occasionally have slip ups - like many dogs I respond best when I have boundaries and understand what you expect of me. When we are out walking I'm OK when introduced to other medium to large sized calm dogs - if there are dogs who are barking and being silly on lead then I feel their negative energy and tend to bark and be silly myself. I'd love a new family who can continue my training on lead with other calm dogs. I haven't met many little dogs but I might find their shenanghans a little annoying.
I’m a big fan of food and food toys - did you say peanut butter in a kong? Yummo! I do like treat rewards and I respond well to positive training methods especially if I get a treat. I do get super excited when my curiousity is piqued (especially when there is water and waves involved) so be prepared for me to have selective 'man' hearing at those times! What? Did you call me? Sorry I was too busy trying to catch the waves with my mouth!
I love love love water! Put the hose on and I’ll go into play mode trying to catch the water as it pours out. I also love to splash in buckets of water - if you have a lake or beach nearby that we can visit I’ll be in heaven. I’m a friendly chap when meeting new humans of all ages when we are out - even little humans. I'll wander up to strangers for a pat and then come back to you when called (most of the time). I've been learning recall training in controlled environments and I'm getting pretty good as long as I'm with you and there isn't anything too exciting around to distract me (did I mention my love for water??).
I'm in foster care with a confident 4 year old human and I'm great with him. If you are experienced with staffies and have older kids over say 12 years who are confident with medium sized dogs then we might be a good match . I might also suit a dog-savy active single or couple who love walking, jogging or any outdoor activity where I can join in. If you can take me to work or are a runner I'd love to join you too - as long as I'm by your side I'll go as far as you want.
Like velcro I have a strong connection with people in my life - I love receiving your attention, cuddles and looking to you for guidance and direction. If you love the staffy breed, train with positive reinforcement and think you can give me an amazing structured furever home then please email Jo on jo.payne.aus@hotmail.com . I am in foster care in Newcastle, NSW and am not available for adoption interstate.
My adoption fee is $350 and includes my desexing, vaccination, and treatment for fleas and worms, microchipping, and lifetime registration.

Healthy and happy boy
Adoption details
(1) The first step is to fill in our online Adoption Questionnaire:
https://tinyurl.com/drnadopt
If there is a phone number listed in the dog's profile then you can also phone for more information.
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption. More details of our Adoption Procedure on our website: https://tinyurl.com/adoptproc
