About May and Emmie (not suitable for children under 12)
May (12 months) and Emmie (two months) are a gorgeous mother / daughter pair who love to cuddle. These cute girls will happily eat food from your hands, and like to explore their cage.
May came to the Refuge pregnant and had her three babies in the safety of the shelter, but unfortunately only two babies survived. She started having seizures caused by milk fever when her babies were a few days old. The vet thought it was probably due to her feeling so sad about the loss of her bub that she let the other two drain her completely, being a good mum. She has now made a full recovery and is in good health.
May and Emmie must be adopted together as they are a bonded pair. Due to Emmie being only two months old, they need an indoor home with children over 12 years of age. In their cage, they aren't allowed to have C & C grids unless the sides have been lined, as Emmie can easily fit through the grids and escape (so grids must be covered), or ramps, in case Emmie falls off and hurts her fragile little bones.
