Merrick

Merrick is now 7 months old. He has learnt sit, drop, fetch, stop, good boy and come (most of the time). He waits patiently for his dinner and knows to sit and be gentle for all treats. We are teaching the sign for no at the moment and get down when he tries to climb up on things. Merrick walks really well on the lead although he isn't real keen on a very long walk! but still needs regular exercise to ease that puppy enthusiasm. Yes we know he is deaf but he is so quick to learn and loves to please you. Merrick would best be suited to a house with one other dog maximum and gets along really well with cats. Good fencing is a must as if he gets out he can't hear you call him back. It would also be good if he wasn't left alone for extra long periods of time. Merrick is trained almost the same as a hearing dog the only difference being that we use signs along with words. He learns things quickly and food is a major motivator for merrick. Merrick is like an old man in a puppies body and loves to sit on your knee and cuddle right up. A truly lovely dog with an even better nature
