About Buddy ~ Jack Russell X Foxy (on trial 9/4/19)
Buddy is an 8 month bundle of energy. He has a personality that far exceeds his little muscly self. He is all about the fun, the good times and making the most out of every day. Some might say that he is still a puppy and this is part of his youthful exuberance. Others might say that this is just Buddy and he will be an eternal puppy for the rest of his life.
Buddy came to Dog Rescue Newcastle from a loving family that were moving and sadly couldn’t take Buddy with them. Papers he came with indicated he could be anything from a cross between a Jack Russell, a Foxy and a Chihuahua. However, even though he is a little fellow, he does have a bit of a Kelpie look about him.
Buddy is happiest when he is with his people, usually being very helpful. If you are pruning some trees, he will carry the branches for you, usually to different parts of the yard, if you are gardening, he is next to you exploring the soil and if you are cooking, his little head will be resting on your toes.
He loves his walks but doesn’t have very good manners. He will pull on his leash and is quite strong and fast. He will also jump to lick faces, which can hurt if you are bending down to pat him as he is bouncing up. This would also be a problem for smaller children as he could knock them over in his excitement. However, he is very well behaved in the car. He also is good with other dogs, although I think this is more that his foster siblings tolerate him as he tries desperately to get them to play with him.
Buddy is mostly toilet trained. He has marked his current house but has since been desexed so this behavior could ease. He does also bark if strangers come the house and whines if he is not included.
Buddy is a top little dog. He is would be a great addition to a family with primary kids and older who could play endlessly outside with him. He plays soccer, and chases balls ( he doesn’t return them however), he loves his food. He also loves sitting on laps, cuddling on the lounge and sleeping on the bed.
If you feel you could offer a loving, forever home with this little demanding, exhausting, sweet and loving boy, you will not be sorry.
