About Strider
Hi my name is STRIDER and I am a male red-fawn greyhound who just turned 3 this month.
I am an extremely affectionate greyhound. What I especially LOVE is cuddles. No one is safe from me. I expect everyone to want to pat & cuddle me and if you let me close enough I even like to give kisses.
For a greyhound I can at times be rather energetic and will require at least a 30 min walk everyday – in the morning before you leave for work would be best as this will settle me for the day and this is when I have the most energy. I am still learning to walk nicely on the lead so I need someone willing to continue my training. As I am a rather strong boy it would probably be best if your kids are older as I do pull on occasion when I get distracted.
I love going for rides in the car especially if I am going to the beach or a park, but I do need to be helped to get into the car but I can jump out of the car myself and I will settle down and lie down until we get to where we are going.
I am very well mannered around food. I stay out of the kitchen while food is being prepared, I don’t counter surf and I will lie at your feet while you eat. When it comes to my food I can be a bit funny with it – sometimes I will eat it all at once, sometimes I like to save some until later
I sleep through the night on a mat at the foot of my foster parent’s bed. If you want a dog that stays off beds and sofas, that not me. Any chance I get I love to disappear into the bedrooms and find myself a comfy bed or join you on the sofa for a cuddle.
I’m looking forward to going to my forever home – hope to meet you soon – love STRIDER.
Adoption details
All BTG greyhounds are Desexed, C5 Vaccinated, Wormed & Heart Worm treated prior to adoption.
They have been fostered for a minimum of 8 weeks to allow maximum training and preparation for home life.
A post adoption trial period of 4 weeks is available to help families decide if the greyhound is the right one for them.
We also offer Foster to Adopt options for those who love the idea of teaching a greyhound in their home with the view to adopt it once it has "graduated" to Home Life status. This is a wonderful experience, to watch it blossom in your own home with your guidance and love. An ideal way to make sure this is the perfect dog for you.
