Hi There

My name is Baxter and I am looking for that special someone to love.

The past few months have not been easy for me. I was left in a drop box at a regional pound, I am not sure what I did, but somebody gave up on me. But then I was saved from the dreaded green dream by a lovely rescue and within a couple of weeks went to my new home in Melbourne. Unfortunately, my owner became sick and I came back to rescue, where I am still waiting for my furever home.

I am approximately 2-3 years old, housetrained and am a real good boy according to my foster mum. I don't jump fences, dig or pull washing off the line. I know how to sit and wait for my food, but am still learning other things like how to shake, walk nicely on a lead and not jump up when I am excited, but I love learning new stuff, so hope we can learn more together!

I currently have two foster siblings, both cattle dogs, the male is my best buddy and we like to run around the garden together. The female is a little old and grumpy so I like to keep a respectful distance from her, unless she wants to play of course, but that's not a problem, I have more fun with my mate anyway! I have also lived with a Jack Russel and another terrier dog that I can't pronounce the name of, so I am good with both bigger and smaller dogs.

I am such a gentle boy and like to sleep in the sun on my bed, but also love to cuddle my humans and follow them round, coz I don't' want to miss anything. I have not been around little hoomans much since coming into care, but have met a few and I have pretty good with them, so foster mum says I should be good with them.

I am not too high energy, but I would love to have a walk and a play each day and do more training so I can be the best boy I can be. Maybe we could even do some cool stuff like beach walks or games like playing ball or frisbee, I think that would be so much fun! But don't forget my cuddles - I did mention I like cuddles didn't I?
