Benji 🐾 Australian Terrier x (on trial 19/3/19)

Benji is a 7yo Australian Terrier x 🐾. He's a happy, fun-loving, active dog that thinks he's a puppy. He loves all people and dogs that he has met so far. He has a soft, low shedding coat and long legs. He likes to be with people and will snuggle up when you sit down. ❤️

Benji enjoys a daily walk on a harness and lead and is good in the car. He is not a nuisance barker. He will sit for his meals and could learn lots more if you'd like to teach him. You can tell he has a sharp, eager mind.

Benji will have a good run around the garden but is mostly an indoor dog. He is housetrained and must sleep inside, preferably in a person's bedroom.

He is a little bit adventurous and won't miss the opportunity to run out of an open door or gate so your home and yard will need to have good fences. He hasn't met a cat 🐱 yet. He isn't interested in the chickens in their enclosure in the garden.

Benji lived with 6 other small dogs 🐶 in his previous home and is with 3 other dogs in his foster home. He gets along quite well with them and loves to play chasies around the garden. Perhaps because he has lived with other dogs, Benji thinks he has to defend his high value chewy treats from the other dogs. This is easy to manage by giving him his own space to enjoy treats. He'd be quite happy to have another doggie friend in his forever home.

Benji is very sweet and affectionate to people young and old but we prefer he doesn't go to a home with children under 9 or an owner over 75 years. He is wonderful with the 12yo girl that visits him daily in his foster home and he lets her dress him up in cute coats and hats. 😍

Benji has a low shedding coat which needs regular brushing (every few days depending on length), bathing (every few weeks) and clipping (every 4 to 8 weeks) to keep him comfortable and handsome.

Benji was surrendered when his owner had to go into a nursing home. He is a perfectly healthy, easy-going, adorable young boy who is looking forward to starting his next great adventure!

Benji needs a home where there is someone who doesn't work full time (part time is fine). He would like to have a small grassy yard to explore so isn't suited to apartment living but would be fine with a courtyard.

Benji's adoption fee is $350 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.
