About 🐾 Ben 🐾
Ben is such a little dude! He is full of personality and has lots of love to give!
As Ben’s breed is so unique, we ask that in addition to reading his profile in full, you familiarise yourself with the ‘Munchkin’ breed, before applying. Applicants will need to display a genuine understanding of this very unusual breed.
While Ben isn’t a “pick me up and cuddle me” lap cat, he is extremely affectionate. When given pats and scratches he will push his head into your hand and roll on his back for Tummy tickles; he is the biggest purr-pot! He can however be a bit timid when people are walking around him. We believe he may in the past have gotten under foot of someone that may have stepped on or kicked him, so is now wary of footfall, but we do expect this to improve over time.
Despite his little legs, Ben is very agile and can get onto tables and furniture and even run along the edge of the bathtub!
Ben does not get on well with other cats and will need to be the only cat in his forever home. Due to the level of interest he took in his foster home’s house rabbit, we believe Ben would be best suited to a home without small animals or birds. He would however be fine with respectful, proven cat friendly dogs.
Ben is a real talker, you can’t walk past him without him starting a conversation, he’s quite the chatty man! He is generally a low maintenance boy, he is good with his tray, not a fussy eater and only requires a weekly brush to keep him looking nice.
Despite his agility and having been purposefully bred this way, the reality is that Ben is deformed. This will likely result in arthritis at some stage in his life, so he is looking for a home that will minimise stress on his joints and ensure he doesn’t ‘over do it’. Ben’s forever home will need to be a single story, indoor only home and will need to be mindful of maintaining a healthy weight for Ben, so as not to put additional stress on his joints.
Ben is truly one of the most unique cats we have ever rescued and we are looking for a serious, committed home for him.
