Koda

Hi my name is Koda - I don’t know how to explain me without telling you my story.
I came into care a few weeks ago - after finding myself in a pound due to be euthanised.
I came into care with a whippet x called Murphy and I am so thankful as he has been my partner in crime and helped me overcome so many fears while in care.

You see I had been abused something chronic so I’m not your normal happy puppy.
When I first came in - I yelped and cried when my rescuers touched me and than all I did was hide in the corner with my head to the ground - my tail didn’t wag once and I just shook.

Every day they spent time with me, speaking softly and slowly they could pat me without me yelping or crying.
Murphy was the first one to show me how to play, and that these humans aren’t at all bad.

Once they gained my trust - they decided to put me on a harness and lead - I was so scared at first. They had to carry me out while Murphy walked. They sat me down and I refused to move.

The second time they put me on the harness I walked myself out and walked all by myself!

Slowly but surely my tail started wagging, I learnt how to play fetch (they only roll the ball along the ground) and I learnt humans aren’t that bad after all.

I am still timid, and I need a family who can continue to shower me in love to show me how awesome this world truly is.

I do need a home with another dog - so I can continue to blossom.
