About Apple
Apple has not had the best start in life which has left her with some understanding trust issues with the human race. She becomes very frightened when approached with a broom or long objects and gets scared when voices are raised or walked towards too quickly, however is not jumpy at loud noises like slamming doors, dropped buckets etc
Since being in care Apple has come on leaps and bounds and no longer wants to hide away from people. She is a very inquisitive pup who wants to be the first to have a sniff of something new. She will come close and smell you and then after a couple of minutes when she has the trust that you will not hurt her will allow you to stroke her soft beautiful coat and enjoys being stroked for quiet a while.
She currently sleeps outside with her foster siblings as this is where she is happiest and is crate trained but she will sleep wherever her new sibling will be. She uses her foster siblings as her comfort blanket so will definitely need another playful dog in the home.
She is great with all other dogs large or small and is very playful and loves her walks and is great on the lead.
Apple is very happy to sleep in her bed by the sofa in the evenings and does not show signs of distress or nervousness doing this.
Apple loves her food but does not scoff her food and can take a while to eat her bowl full. She has no food aggression signs.
Apple is great with kids (better than she is with adults) and very gentle.
Apple shows a little too much interest in birds so not sure she would hold back from a little taste, although she does show no interest in the guinea pigs cage.
Toilet training is unsure as she is taken outside often during the evening and has not had an issue so as with any puppy will need some reminding of where to go.
Apple needs to find a forever, understanding and caring home so that her trust rehabilitation can be done in her new home. Her eyes just tell you that she wants to be loved and you can just tell she wants to let that guard down. Time, love, understanding, a gentle approach and support is all she will need to gain that trust and she will be a beautiful loyal dog for any family.
Apple is located in Bongaree on Bribie Island, QLD.

ADOPTION:
To meet, adopt or find out more details on this animal, please fill in our adoption application at our website- http://www.safehavenanimalrescueinc.com
Completing this application form does not place you under any obligation to adopt.
Safe Haven Animal Rescue Inc have a 10 day trial/settling period, if for any reason the pet needs to be returned, we will happily take them back into our care once a foster home is found and the adoption fee minus $50 (admin fee) will be returned via bank transfer within 5 working days. If the pet is returned after the trial period there will be no refund made.
ADOPTION PROCESS:
1. An Adoption application MUST be filled out prior to the meet and greet with the animal.
2. 'Meet & Greet' with the animal and their carer will then take place. You must bring your current dog along to the meet and greet if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption. If meeting a cat we do not recommend brining your current dog/cat as this may stress the cat/kitten out.
3. The animal MUST not be taken on the day unless PRIOR ARRANGED (travelling over a 2 hr round trip), we will NOT ACCEPT the animal to be taken on the day if less then 2 days notice is given. If prior arrangement is made, an adoption agreement/s and payment must be made before collection of the animal.
4. 10 day trial period commences once the animal has been collected from foster carer.
5. Adoption is finalised after 14 days and paperwork is sent via email.
Sorry we can’t take calls, as our rescue is run entirely by volunteers, but we endeavour to respond to your email within 24 - 48 hours. Your patience is greatly appreciated.
