About Tilly ~ Border Collie X Staffy (on trial 12/5/19)
Hi my name is Tilly. I am an affectionate 10 month old Border Collie X Staffy! I am an unclaimed stray so my current foster parents don’t know my background. I am very wary of strangers at first but once I get to know you, I’ll be your best friend. I’m not sure how I would get along with other pets that aren’t my kind. When my foster parents are at work my foster brother and I both like to run around the yard during the day or laze about. One of my favourite games is tug-of-war!
I am crate trained and have not had any accidents since coming into care. My parents don’t have a doggy door for me to come and go to do my business but they let us out regularly for toilet breaks. My parents call me a protective barker. If someone comes near our fences, enters our yard or even the house and I haven’t met them I will bark to let my parents know. I sleep all night in my crate, which I call my safe place.
I like walks but I am very excitable as there are just so many smells. I will need continued training in this area. I know a few basic commands like “sit”, “stay”, “no” and “on your bed” which are being reinforced on a daily basis.
I would want nothing more than human interaction in my new family. I think I’d like living in a home where my new parents have a friend I can play with or if they don’t I would need them to be home more often. My foster parents don’t think I would suit a family with young children as I can get excitable and need my humans to reinforce the basic manners. I’m still young and I need help learning!
