Hi! I'm Narla. I'm having such a great time in foster care, This is what my carer had to say about me, ""If I hadn't sworn an allegiance to be a foster carer I would adopt her. She is just about perfect. Or will be with a bit of training and maturity. The owner will need to be very strong and be prepared for the rigours of owning a mini-horse.

""First impressions are that she is a very 'clean' dog. She has a very short coat and is in a very fit and muscular condition. She looks very healthy and doesn't drool like pure bred Great Danes. She is big and is only going to get bigger. Her arms are very similar size to humans. She walks well on a lead but is still a bit random - stop, start, change direction, pony gallop etc. During walks she is taking everything in - every object, every sound. She doesn't cope well with the heat. Even walks in the wet season get her panting excessively so definitely not a runner in the wet, however in the dry, maybe a different story. She sits for her meals and loves marrow bones to occupy her. She chews a quarter for about 3 hours before needing a snooze. She loves toys to play with also. She has separate indoor toys and outdoor toys. She is not destructive in the garden at all - I think as long as you keep her occupied. She is very gentle and has a fantastic nature. She is not boisterous or a jumper and doesn't tear around at a million miles per hour.

""She sometimes has a mind of her own when she doesn't want to do something. She is not a barker, however if something is odd she will bark. She certainly doesn't show any aggressive tendencies. She loves play time, a wrestle and quiet cuddles. We haven't had much contact with other dogs at all. However, she seems to want to meet and play with them when she sees them in the street. She is a very low maintenance dog (apart from daily walks). Meals are easy - just 500ml container of dry biscuits. A couple of times she has pulled on the lead and I have thought wow the new owner will need to be strong. She comes inside in the evenings and sits on her mat with her toys. She occasionally gets up and walks around but knows she needs to be good. She gets a bit of a food treat inside too. She falls asleep pretty quickly on the cool floorboards. If left unsupervised inside she will collect things that are left lying around - shoes, door wedges, teddy's on beds etc. She drinks heaps so make sure at least two 20L buckets are full. She sticks her whole muzzle in and syphons. She wants to swim but is not sure at this stage. I've had her in the pool but she wont get in voluntarily. No experience at the beach as yet. Great Danes are quite goofy and Narla has a bit of that too. Young kids would be no good as she would accidentally knock them over. She reminds me a bit like those 'AT-AT walkers' in Star Wars - Empire Strikes Back.

""First day at beach was such a success. Loves being off lead to gallop. Was so brave putting her paws in the water and running away when a little wave came in. Great with other dogs, tail wagging crazy. Comes back when called and listens intently.""
