About Xeena
Why we ask would a beautiful 13 month old pure bred German Shepherd come into the hands of rescue? Young Xeena is just such a young affectionate dog.
This darling girl was purchased from a breeder as a puppy by couple that also had small dogs. Nothing wrong with that you would say, however they were breeding small dogs so Xeena was thrust into a home with entire females who were having puppies and she had to try to fit in.
We can see she has now developed a fear of other dogs no doubt from being bullied and dominated by the breeding mother dogs protecting their pups.
So Xeena needs a confident owner who understands this young dog is fearful of other dogs and displays the typical reactive behaviour when confronted with dogs either on lead or when walking freely.
This gorgeous girl is beautiful with people and has so much love to give and is already trained to respond to word commands.
So if you understand that Xeena will need behavioural readjustment to learn to play and be calm around other dogs then please contact us to discuss meeting Xeena.
She is not suitable to go to a home with another dog at this stage, and no other animals ie cats or pocket pets. We feel that in the right home where her owners will provide her with a daily routine and exercise and are prepared to attend a dog training group to work on her socialisation they will find they have the most loyal and affectionate shepherd.
Xeena is house trained and has her basic training under her belt. She is a petite shepherd and being a young dog we recommend a family with older dog savvy children.
If you think you can give either Xeena a new home, please contact us by clicking on the link in the screen “Enquire about this pet”.
Medical notes
Xeena is microchipped, vaccinated and desexed, and has been wormed and is on heart worm treatment.
Adoption details
We have an Adoptions Manager who screens all prospective candidates as to their suitability to adopt a German Shepherd Dog.
We try to contact every one by phone but if that isn't successful we will email our application form to you, which needs to be completed and returned, or you can call us back and we can chat and complete for you. We will also ask you to provide photos of your yard and fencing to enable us to see where the dog will be kept and that they have areas of shade and shelter.
All our dogs are ready to go to their new home, so when you enquire about a dog you must be in a position to take them into your home. We are unable to hold a dog while you fix your fences or go on holiday, etc.
The successful candidate who adopts one of our dogs is provided with an information kit, ongoing support, training and advice on all aspects of feeding, training and general assistance to ensure both the new owner and our rescued dog settle into their home.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
