About Jersey ~ Catahoula X Bull Arab (on trial 4/4/19)
Jersey is a 3.5 month old Catahoula x Bull Arab girl. After being pushed off the back off a Ute with her two sisters and her past owner trying to leave her in the bush she is still so unbelievably sweet and loving. She is a beautiful girl who wants nothing more than to show you love and affection.
Jersey comes toilet trained and has learnt to sit, stay, and wait for her food. She is very gentle when taking treats from your hand and is quite happy to share food with her 6-month-old foster sister. She is very food orientated so any new training should be picked up easily. Jersey is great in the car, being both quiet and calm during trips. She is getting used to wearing a harness and lead in both the car and for short walks.
Jersey is a very healthy little pup who has been raised in a home environment in foster care with a male cattle dog and a female fox terrier. Jersey is a very playful puppy and adores chasies as well as play wrestling with the two other dogs in her foster home. She has been well socialised with both puppies and adult dogs (small and large) and gets along with them all. Jersey will need a friendly adult dog as a teacher, companion and playmate as she would be too lonely on her own. As Jersey will grow up to be a large dog we always recommend puppy-training classes to give your new family member the best start in life. All dogs and puppies need plenty of affection, exercise, and training. It will also be important that Jersey be walked every day as she gets older.
During the day, Jersey hangs out in the sunroom and plays in the backyard with the other dogs, while her carer is at work. She is not destructive and is neither a digger nor a jumper. Jersey is a very quiet puppy, the only time you will hear her happy little bark is during playtime with the other dogs. Secure, high fencing is required to keep Jersey safe as she grows into her large adult body.
Jersey has met lots of people and children who she is friendly and affectionate with. She will be a wonderful family dog and is suitable for children 8 years and older. It would also be good if someone in the household doesn't work full time. Jersey needs to be welcome inside when people are home, and to sleep inside. She currently sleeps in her basket in her carers room or if allowed she will curl up with her head and paws over your chest.
Jersey would make the perfect companion and can be quite the couch potato. When she isn’t playing with the other dogs, she is very attentive and likes to watch her carer as she goes about her day-to-day activities. She will happily sit in her carers lap as she gardens and lays her head on her lap during movie time. If you are after a big sooky, cuddly lap dog, this girl definitely hits the mark.
As Jersey is not yet de-sexed, she is only available for adoption to Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and Port Stephens as she'll need to be returned to our vet for de-sexing at approximately 5 months old.
For more information or to meet Jersey, please contact her foster carer Erin at iverinadelle@hotmail.com Josie is in care in Fennell Bay, NSW, 2283.
Jersey's adoption fee is $550 and includes her desexing, vaccinations and microchipping. She is treated for fleas and worms monthly.
