About Usha
Meet the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow!
Usha is a beautiful goldie with his soft and flowing coat. He thoroughly enjoys cuddling up
with his foster parents on the couch in the evening for some snuggle time and when you
arrive home he will find a toy to pick up in his mouth and bring to you as a greeting. When it
comes to meeting new people, Usha can find it a bit overwhelming, particularly if there is
more than one person at once and its loud so he needs a quieter home environment with an
experienced family who can be aware of his feelings and give him the time and guidance he
requires to become comfortable.
Usha enjoys the company of other dogs and going to the dog park. He likes a good wrestle
with another similarly sized dog and gets comfort from hanging out with his doggy siblings
at home. As Usha can be a little anxious at times, it is important that there is another
relaxed and confident dog in the household to provide some guidance. We will be looking
for a home with a similar sized dog with those attributes.
This boy has good training foundations as he can sit, drop, stay and waits for his food. Usha
also walks well on the lead and is food motivated which makes training easy; however, he
has been known to try and share your dinner if you’re not careful, so a few more house
manners wouldn’t go astray. Attendance at some group training classes would be beneficial
for Usha and his new family to help build his confidence and bond with his new owners.
Usha enjoys car rides and is toilet trained. He sleeps through the night on his bed in the
room with the resident dogs in his foster home.
We are looking for a dog experienced home for Usha with owners who can be firm leaders / Alpha pack leaders and have training experience. There must be another larger dog at home that is well balanced and happy to have a wrestle or play. Usha must be allowed inside to be with the family members and will need a comfy bed to sleep on inside at night, as he is not an outside dog. He has been living with cats and is good with them, giving them their own space. Usha will need a household with older dog savvy children or no children, and one that is quieter.
If you feel you are the family he needs and can meet the above, please apply by completing the adoption enquiry form via our Fetching Dogs website as the next step.
Medical notes
Usha has had a hip replacement about a year ago and is currently on a diet to ensure he doesn't get overweight and put additional strain on his hips. Otherwise, there are no current problems with his hips.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
