About Whiskey and Sasha a bonded pair
Hi my name is Sasha I am 7 and my friend Whiskey has just turned 9, we had a wonderful home and our owner loved us very much, it was very tragic when we lost our owner and her relatives made sure we were ok and found Chihuahua Rescue QLD to look after us.
I Sasha am definitely the boss in our relationship, but Whiskey does not mind, he is my best friend and we have to stay together, this is non negotiable so don’t ask the rescue to seperate us, they won’t do it. I am ready for adoption right now, but my partner Whiskey isn’t yet let me tell you why.
Whiskey used to be a show dog, he is an Australian Champion! But when Chihuahua Rescue QLD got him into care they found out he has grade 3 luxating patellas and they bother him a bit, what Whiskey needs is patella surgeries so that he can live a totally pain free life as he gets older. The rescue group want to find us a forever home now, rather than wait a few months, they want us to bond with our new humans and be secure, so they are looking for a foster to adopt home for Whiskey, I can be adopted now by the same family. The rescue will pay for all Whiskeys vet costs, preventatives etc while he remains a foster dog until he is cleared by the vets for adoption.
Whiskey remaining a foster dog means that you will join the CRQ community and have lots of support, it is really great and don’t be daunted by it all, we are really worth it, we have been told over and over by people that meet us that we are the most perfect little pair,I can be a little bit shy at first but warm up fast , Whiskey really is an outgoing happy chap, he loves everyone! We are small dogs so need secure fencing. We are used to having people home with us a lot of the time, but we will adapt to most situations. We are both easy going dogs.
Now if you want to meet us make sure you make an enquiry or fill out the expression of interest form further down the page, we need to remain in the Brisbane or Sunshine Coast areas as the rescues vets need to keep seeing Whiskey until he is cleared for adoption. Thank you for reading our story, I hope you can be a part of the next chapter.
Medical notes
All Chihuahua Rescue Queensland dogs have been fully health checked by our vets. We offer a free post-adoption health check with Greencross Vets at Chermside, Jindalee, Browns Plains or Kawana Waters hospitals. This gives you the opportunity to talk directly to the vet about any questions you may have. We provide all veterinary records for each dog, including copies of blood tests, any relevant X-rays and medical notes.
All Chihuahua Rescue Queensland dogs are desexed, vaccinated and microchipped. We test all our dogs for heartworm and treat them with regular parasite prevention.
