About π Florida π
Florida has spent almost 18 months in care and is finally ready to find a home to call her own!
Florida came to Squishies as part of a mass surrender of 21 cats and kittens, all in horrendous condition. Poor Flori had the most severe fungal skin infection we have ever seen. Her entire body was covered in sores and her immune system seemed to have long ago, stopped trying to clear the infection.
It has taken over a year to rid Florida's little body of this chronic ringworm infection, during which time she has endured course after course of medication and skin treatments, vet trips, tests and most upsetting, virtual isolation, due to the contagious nature of her infection. :(
Thankfully we finally got the news we'd been waiting so long for - Florida's 47,000th (it feels like that many, anyway!) skin culture finally came back negative! She is officially ringworm free for possibly the first time in her life.
After such a long stint in care, can now finally take adoption applications for Miss Flori!
Florida can be initially shy, but affectionate when she warms up to you. She would like a mature home and would prefer to be the only cat.
Florida is affectionate, loving and very playful. She loves her laser pointer and playing with other interactive toys. She loves attention, never ending pats/ cuddles and will make an awesome lap cat in time after she fully settles in. Florida is ok to be left home alone throughout the day but she does need (demands actually) quality 1 on 1 time each day.
Florida is in care in Morwell, but can be met in Melbourne by prior arrangement.
Medical notes
Florida goes to her new home desexed, vaccinated, microchipped and flea and worm treated.
