Medical Notes - Magpie had severe cat flu which resulted in her losing her left eye. Maggie is now healthy and ready to leave our care once she has her desexing procedure next week.
Our baby Magpie is ready to start looking for her forever home. Magpie has quite a story to tell her new family about her short, but very challenging life so far. She joined our rescue after she was found at a local garden centre and taken to a vet clinic for care. Magpie was very sick, underweight, and suffering from severe cat flu. Her eyes were gunked closed, and she was almost unable to breathe from her snotted over little nose. After a week of medications, bottle feeds, and tlc, our bubba started to gain condition. However sadly her left eye continued to get worse, and developed glucoma. This make her eye ball swell out of her socket and was very painful. We sadly had two options and we had to decide quickly. Do we put Magpie to sleep, or do we send a 400gm kitten to surgery to remove her eye? With our vets recommendation we decided to go to surgery, and she came out the other side fantastically!
Magpie is a little pocket rocket, full of energy and love. Her little fluffy tail sticks high in the air as she runs around HandiHQ chasing the vacuum cleaner. Yep you read correctly, Magpie LOVES the vacuum cleaner. Magpie would like a home where she is centre of attention, but also has another feline friend to spend her days with. Magpie would not be happy as an only cat.
