About Simba
Introducing Simba the Spoodle, active, cheeky, loving little man. Simba is three years old, desexed recently, microchipped, vaccinated and heart worm treated.
Simba is looking for a family where he can be a part of family life and family activities. Sadly he knows what it is like to be left in a backyard to amuse himself, included in nothing, taught nothing and taken nowhere. Neglect might be his past but the future we are looking for for this little man is bright and happy, and full of activities. In foster care he has been learning how to live in a home and be part of family activities. He is dog friendly and cat friendly, and he’ll benefit from confident companions with four legs, but is looking for a home without small children. He would be far too active for a retirement situation.
He’ll enjoy going on lots of walks or maybe learning about hiking or camping, but he is equally at home laying at your feet as you work at the computer or sitting on your lap as you watch tv. He’ll follow you around the garden, ever curious about what you are doing, constantly putting himself just a little in the way, not wanting to be left out. And yet if he does spend time out in the yard alone, he is not stressed by this but is not keen to do it for long – no apartments please, he wants to roam and run. He has had to learn about not jumping up on people or jumping on the back door to come inside. Toilet training has come fairly naturally, and he doesn’t steal or chew things that don’t belong to him. He is a generally well-behaved canine family member, but certainly will benefit from a family prepared to reinforce basic rules, not just pandering to a dog with a sad beginning. Don’t feel sorry for him, he doesn’t feel sorry for himself.
Simba is always keen for food of any kind – not the fusspot that little dogs often can be – but is the first to scoff any meal or treat, and doesn’t balk at eating vegetables of almost any variety. He probably wouldn’t be adverse to stealing unattended food so you’ll need to keep an eye on that. He’ll need regular grooming and semi regular clipping, which he is not a fan of, so he’ll need help getting used to these over time.
If you feel like Simba might slot nicely into your family please send us an email at caninelifeline@hotmail.com and we’ll forward an application form. Don’t dawdle, as he’ll be very popular.
Medical notes
Simba has no major medical requirements.
