About Ellie ~ Border Collie x (on trial 23/2/19)
This beautiful girl is Ellie, a 2 year old Border Collie x who is looking for a new home. How can anyone resist those eyes! Ellie’s a lovely dog, full of kisses, who will quite happily curl up on your lap or your bed.
Ellie has been a dog that has spent much of her 2 years in the yard therefore hasn’t been socialised with other dogs very much, if at all. She is currently in care with another male dog which she gets on with most of the time but sometimes struggles with having a furry friend.
Ellie isn’t interested in chasing a ball or stick, she’d rather sit by you so it is very important that Ellie is allowed inside with her family.
Ellie walks well on a lead and has great recall. She sits, waits for her food, drops and goes to bed when told but is still learning not to jump onto people.
Ellie is toilet trained, can use a doggy door (soft flap) and sleeps inside. She only barks when necessary, not a nuisance barker.
Ellie is great with her carer's 2 year old grandson so good with children.
Ellie would suit an active middle aged couple who has no other animals and is home a lot as she loves company or a family who understands the needs of an active dog. Ellie is untested with other animals such cats, pocket pets, chickens and livestock.
She’s a bit of an escapist, so a well fenced yard will be needed. She needs someone who is willing to spend time with her.
