About Hamm *Adoption Pending*
Hamm is a 7 month old Pug with a cleft Palate. We can assure you this does not stop him enjoying life to the fullest every moment of every day. He has been hand raised from a tiny two day old pup and has matured into a confident, hilarious, spunky adrenaline seeker. He is super cheeky but so cute and special that he gets away with all sorts of things... think standing on the coffee table ! Jumping on the couch! Shoe stealing too.
Hamm is super social with other dogs but not a fan of cats who dislike small dogs. He is ok with cats who are dog savvy. He loves a good rough and tumble play, so long as he is winning the game, so his perfect home will have another dog who loves to play and do zoomies around the yard also.
Hamm loves his outdoor adventures so will need a secure fence - we will be conducting a home check for his forever home, but he is also obsessed with his people and getting cuddles and pats ... allllll the attention so will need constant access to inside also. He needs a home where he will be adored and cherished, loved for just the way he is but also someone to remind him of his manners and keep his training for being polite and patient in check.
Hamm is a delightful, funny, boisterous, crazy, cool little guy who is looking for a perfect fur-ever after. His adoption fee is $950, which includes all vet work - desexing, vaccinations, microchip, worming & flea treatment each month.
Hamm has a cleft palate, this is an opening in the roof of his mouth. He has seen a specialist surgeon and at this stage it has been decided that surgery would not be in his best interests as he handles his eating and drinking very well and knows how to clear his nose with sneezing. He also loves water play which helps clear any food debris from his cleft. His successful adopter will need to understand the importance of specific feeding, no sticky treats, wet dog food or human food will be acceptable for Hamm. Due to his small size and specific dietary requirements, any children in the home will need to be dog savvy and over 10 years old.
Please, before submitting an application, research and consider the Pug breed's health and temperament as well as information about cleft palates and their care. Our foster carer will also be able to discuss his needs for now and in the future in great detail with you.
Applications will be assessed on suitability only, not in order of receipt or location in QLD.

ADOPTION:
To meet, adopt or find out more details on this animal, please fill in our adoption application at our website- http://www.safehavenanimalrescueinc.com
Completing this application form does not place you under any obligation to adopt.
Safe Haven Animal Rescue Inc have a 10 day trial/settling period, if for any reason the pet needs to be returned, we will happily take them back into our care once a foster home is found and the adoption fee minus $50 (admin fee) will be returned via bank transfer within 5 working days. If the pet is returned after the trial period there will be no refund made.
ADOPTION PROCESS:
1. An Adoption application MUST be filled out prior to the meet and greet with the animal.
2. 'Meet & Greet' with the animal and their carer will then take place. You must bring your current dog along to the meet and greet if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption. If meeting a cat we do not recommend brining your current dog/cat as this may stress the cat/kitten out.
3. The animal MUST not be taken on the day unless PRIOR ARRANGED (travelling over a 2 hr round trip), we will NOT ACCEPT the animal to be taken on the day if less then 2 days notice is given. If prior arrangement is made, an adoption agreement/s and payment must be made before collection of the animal.
4. 10 day trial period commences once the animal has been collected from foster carer.
5. Adoption is finalised after 14 days and paperwork is sent via email.
Sorry we can’t take calls, as our rescue is run entirely by volunteers, but we endeavour to respond to your email within 24 - 48 hours. Your patience is greatly appreciated.
