Adoption requirements -

• His new home MUST have another cat or kitten.
• Preference will be given to a home who is able to adopt Haroun and his sister Sesame together.
Haroun joined our rescue with his mum and 4 siblings after they were saved from death row in a very isolated north qld pound. He was a tiny 6 week old kitten and had a nasty virus that caused ulcers in this mouth, and a fungal infection called ringworm on his skin. He was treated for both of these and was doing really well, until one of his knee joints swelled up and became infected. After lots of check ups, our vets had no idea what had caused the infection in poor Haroun. He went through 6 weeks of antibiotics which eventually cleared up the infection. Sadly the infection at such a young age had caused severe damage to his knee, and early onset of arthritis. Poor Haroun limped around on his little leg and it became muscle wasted and skinnier by the week. After discussions with our vets, we decided to have his leg amputated to relieve Haroun of the pain and discomfort.
Only days after surgery Haroun was already racing around Handi HQ with his sisters. He was jumping up to snuggle with us on the couch, and tucked himself into bed with us at night. It has been a month since his surgery and Haroun is finally ready to find his perfect forever home.
Haroun is a total smoocher! He adores his humans, and loves snuggling up to them at night to go to sleep. He's that kitten who is always there investigating what you are doing and making sure he approves. Haroun adores the other cats in his foster home and because of this, he will not be available to an only cat home. Haroun seeks love from the older cats, and uses his sisters for wrestle practice. Ultimately his perfect forever home would be able to include both him, and his sister Sesame into their home - although we know this may not be achievable.
