About Stella ~ Cattle Dog (on trial 10/4/19)
Meet Stella, the pretty 18 month old Cattle Dog! Stella is a lovely girl with a million dollar smile to match.
Stella has basic training and good recall and would love a home with someone who can spend some time on her training. This girl is super smart, is willing to learn and being a dog who loves food will be easy to train.
Being a Cattle Dog, Stella is extremely alert, intelligent and very loyal to her owner. She can be wary of strangers and does have a tendency to jump up to say hello but can be re-directed easily with a sit. Stella, when uncomfortable or unsure of things or people, occasionally air nips so we are looking for someone who has experience with Cattle Dogs to help her overcome her fears. Stella very rarely barks and is toilet trained.
Stella gets on very well with other dogs. She has been raised with kids of all ages, but as with any younger dog can still jump up at times and may be best suited to kids over 12. She would like to be allowed inside to spend time with her humans and be part of the family. She seems to particularly like men.
Now Stella for a young dog is a bit overweight so we would like to see her have regular exercise. Stella would love a yard with some space to run. Stella is ok on her own for a few hours but would love some human or fur company and a few chew toys. Stella is good on lead and off, and likes car rides. She is OK with laid-back cats but will need slow introductions.

(1) The first step is to fill in our online Adoption Questionnaire:
https://tinyurl.com/drnadopt
If there is a phone number listed in the dog's profile then you can also phone for more information.
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption. More details of our Adoption Procedure on our website: https://tinyurl.com/adoptproc
