About Gadget
Introducing Gadget, a 5 yr old female Kelpie.
This girl is absolutely stunning, very small for a kelpie, incredibly focused on balls and toys with a very high drive...she, like most kelpies, needs lots of physical and mental stimulation. She'd love a home where she is given a job to do and someone with the time, energy and knowledge of working breeds to bring out the best in this girl 😍
She is NOT good with cats or any small pets. Caged birds will hold her attention but no aggression shown. Although not tested with chooks, probably not a good idea 😆
She would be quite happy to be an only dog. Definitely doesn't appreciate silly bouncy puppies! Will avoid at all costs!! Shows no interest in playing with other dogs but neither is there any dog aggression. All she wants is to play with her ball and to be with her person. She shows a definite preference for men but good with all, including kids. Has been in the habit of jumping up through excitement but has shown quick improvement in this area. Also pulls a lot on lead so will need work on this. Travels well in the car, good off lead and with recall (basically if you have a ball with you she's not going to leave your side!)
Has not minded being left alone, not a huge barker, no digging/chewing. Not a fence jumper but secure fencing a good idea! If on a property she will chase roos if they pass through the yard. Greets strangers warily when they arrive at property gate but warms up quickly when they show friendly intentions!
Would be ok as just an outside dog but would love to be allowed in too...behaves well inside😉
Gadget is incredibly loyal and once you have her trust it is for life. She is a truly special girl who is longing to be one half of a unique partnership. Give Gadget a try and you'll find that with her at your side the sky is the limit!!❤️❤️
Adoption details
Fraser Coast Animal Rescue house all our dogs in care with foster carers in family homes. This allows the dogs to experience life in family situations with other dogs, cats, children, chooks and various other domestic animals. This gives us an opportunity to discover their traits and personalities, likes and dislikes, and which dogs would suit which family dynamics.
We offer a 14 day trial period for all potential adoptees so they can see if the dog they have chosen is a fit with their family situation. There is a $50 refundable deposit paid on the commencement of the trial period, which comes off the balance of the adoption fee should you wish to formally adopt your chosen dog. If you decide that the dog doesn't fit with your family, the dog will be returned into foster care, and the full balance of the deposit is refunded to you with no fees or charges.
If you wish to arrange a meet and greet with one of our dogs in care, please call Dianne on 0400346347 or email dianne.north@hotmail.com
The committee and carers of Fraser Coast Animal Rescue are all volunteers, so please be patient with us if we don't answer your enquiries straight away.
