Huxley was only surrendered due to his owners living arrangements changing and he unfortunately couldn’t move with them.
Initially, Huxley was scared and very wary, but over the past 6 weeks in foster care he has settled in to the house extremely well and gets on fabulously with the other 3 small dogs he is living with. With our immediate family he is very happy, friendly and a pleasure to have around. Unfortunately, Huxley doesn’t like cats and cannot be rehomed with one. Small children would also be unsuitable.

As Huxley loves his immediate family so much, he can be very protective of them. This means he can bark and growl at visitors that come to the home. This will also happen when he is out walking (he is now walked with a halti so his behaviour can be corrected immediately). His foster carer has been working with a Trainer at Barking Mad and this behaviour has improved dramatically and the training will need to continue. His adoption fee will include 3 sessions with the Trainer at Barking Mad to ensure a smooth transition to his new home and to ensure his behaviour remains acceptable. If you require further training beyond this, it will be at your own cost.

Huxley is toilet trained, enjoys a daily walk, loves his toys, sleeps all night in a crate and would happily live with another friendly and active dog. Although he loves the dogs he lives with, he does need careful & controlled introduction to new dogs. Also, Huxley will need to be muzzled when he goes to the vet
