About Penny
Sometimes I feel like I’m salvaging souls, rummaging through the pile of cast offs.
The sadder and sorrier they are, the more I’m attracted like a magnet, the more I want to turn their lives around, to show them what it’s like to have a “normal” life and home.
Penny was one that fell into this category. I didn’t choose her on her looks, but there was something about her, that made me want to help her. And I’m so glad I did - she has such a beautiful soul, she’s a friendly girl who wants to please you and she seems so grateful for her second chance at life.
I doubt that Penny has had anyone spend much time with her. She didn’t know how to sit or walk on a leash but mastered those niceties with ease and she’s cat friendly! When she met the cat, she actually nuzzled it and seemed to like Claire Bear.
Penny is a lightly built little Kelpie x. We don’t know what else is in her, but she’s on the small side of medium.
If Penny were a human, she would have been awarded a “high distinction” on completion of her socialisation test! The test consists of mixing nicely with numerous other dogs of different sizes and ages, including puppies, off leash in my garden, on more than one occasion.
She’s an active girl who would love an active family. She’d be great at agiliy or flyball. A home near the beach, river or lake would be very welcomed by Penny - she loves the water, but that would be a bonus not a necessity. Another active dog to play with would be welcomed by Penny.
At barely a year old, Penny will bring many years of joy to her new family.
Penny’s in care at Moree, NSW. Moree has daily flights to Sydney and further afield.
Dog road transportation is another option.
