About Dingo
**Please read Dingo's profile prior to enquiring. He will need an experienced owner, homes without another suitable dog will not be considered**
Meet our handsome lab, Dingo! Dingo is a sociable, friendly and boisterous boy, who is looking for a committed and experienced dog handler to take him home. If you are looking for a challenge, read on!
Dingo loves people, water, other dogs, and a good game of fetch. He will need an active and knowledgeable owner who isn’t afraid to create/enforce rules and boundaries where needed. He thrives off of leadership and routine and would benefit immensely from attending regular group obedience classes to help create a strong bond with his new owner, and master his listening skills around distractions.
In a previous placement, Dingo became confused and took it upon himself to try and protect his family and property. This was not the position this naturally happy boy wanted to be in and he became very stressed and overwhelmed.
Since coming into care with his current foster carer we have been busy working on his impulse control, respect for people, and trusting that his carers can make judgements regarding who comes and goes onto the property – this boy has come so far in his rehabilitation and we are keen to see him thriving in his forever home.
Dingo gets along well with other dogs, people and children and is learning to respect personal space, and control his excitement as he doesn’t always realise how big and strong he is.
He will be looking for a home with no young children, but rather with at least one other equally active, de-sexed doggie friend who likes a good run around and wrestle.
He loves adventures in the bush, is developing a good recall and is a very good travel companion.
If you are interested in meeting Dingo, please send through an enquiry with a short description of the type of lifestyle you could offer him.
Dingo is located in Ballarat. Due to the current Covid restrictions, we will only be taking enquiries from residents outside of the Metro Melbourne/MItchell shire at this stage.
Adoption details
If you think one of our animals would be a good match for your home please email us with as much information as possible about your home and lifestyle and we will be in touch shortly after. We all work fulltime, have families and other commitments so your patience is appreciated.
We do require any other dogs in your home meeting our foster animal before they head home with you. This enables us to assess their compatibility and helps prevent them being returned and creating more confusion/insecurities for the foster animal.
All our animals are available for a two week trial with full refund. They are also covered by a lifetime return policy. If you ever find yourself unable to care for or keep your pet please contact us and they will come back into our care, this is a condition of our Adoptions.
