Diesel ~ 4 year old Boxer x (on trial 8/3/19)

Hi there! My name is Diesel and I’m looking for my new fur ever home. If you’re someone who loves going for walks, but also cuddles and chilling on the couch we could be a match! So, a little bit about me. I’m a 4 year old Boxer X and I pride myself on my manners and being a gentleman. I’m a fairly big boy at 26kg, at least you know I’m done growing! I’m vaccinated and desexed so if you think we’re a match I’m ready to come home with you.

So, the reason I’m in care. I love making new friends, however not everyone appreciates this. I was getting into trouble for chasing the neighbour’s horses and the neighbour was threatening to shoot me. As much as it broke my family’s heart to see me go they didn’t want anything bad happening to me and asked DRN to find me someone else to love. I love exploring so secure fencing is a must! However, I’m not an escape artist or a digger.

My ideal new home is one where I’m treated as one of the family and am allowed inside. I love pats and cuddles but if you need your space I understand and will happily curl up at your feet or on my bed. I currently sleep inside and I change between sleeping on my bed and the couch, and would prefer to be allowed to continue to do so.

I only bark when I hear out of places noises or when I’m playing with you, but I calm down quickly if you ask me to. My foster mum says I remind her of Tigger from Winnie the pooh. My brindle coat looks like tiger stripes and mixed with my curly tail and happy personality she thinks the resemblance is uncanny, especially because I bounce when I play. I enjoy playing with soft toys, ropes, balls and empty soft drink containers. I’ve been very good while in care and haven’t chewed on anything important, which just proves my family loved me very much and put a lot of time and energy into my training. I walk very well on the lead and while I don’t walk next to you, I don’t pull either.

I sit and wait, mostly patiently, for my food. Although if you leave me unattended, I can’t promise not to eat it, sometimes it just smells so good. I’m working on my waiting though. I’m also working on drop but I’m definitely getting the hang of it. I’m a quick learner who would love someone to further my training.

My foster mum and dad work long hours and I’m happy playing in the yard with their fur child, she and I get along great. If you have to work long hours I’d love to have a new friend that I can spend my days with. If you’re home a lot though I’m happy for it to be just us.

My foster family doesn’t have any cats or pocket pets so I am untested. I’d be best going to a family with older children as I can be a bit boisterous when I play and I might knock someone younger over accidentally. I’d hate to hurt my new family when I play.
