About Buddy ^^Dandy Cat Rescue^^
🐱🐱 $100 adoption fee 🐱🐱
Buddy had a bit of a rough start in life and has come through it all - but it hasn't been an easy road. In the short few months of his life Buddy has been to the vet more times than he cares to remember but finally we have good news - Buddy is now ready to find his forever home.
A poor diet when he was a kitten (he was fed scraps including bread soaked in water) meant Buddy developed a few health issues as a youngster and we had to nurse him through. He was diagnosed with calicivirus as a kitten and he has been treated and recovered, however this leaves him with the possibility of infrequent occasional flare ups.
The effects of that? A bit of bad breath, which is easily treatable.
With lots of love and care, Buddy has come through his health concerns with flying colours; a good diet of meat and good-quality dry food has seen him gain weight and grow up to be a good-natured, gentle sweetheart. Having been handled so much means Buddy is completely fine being picked up, held and kissed.
As Buddy is likely to have lingering issues with his gums from time to (infrequent) time, he needs a very special human to love him for all his days and understand that this little condition will be minor compared to the major love he will give. He is also a carrier of the condition, which means he needs to be either the only cat in the house or he can share a home with cats aged over four. Dogs are no problem at all.
Buddy is super affectionate and loves his morning cuddles. He will nuzzle your neck and purr loudly the whole time before he curls up to sleep. He loves to be around people and is very engaging. Buddy is through the zany kitten stage and instead prefers cuddles and hugs and the quiet life. He has a soft meow that he will use to get your attention and he has a very loud purr that he uses often.
Buddy will make a great companion to a lucky person as he will bond with you deeply.
Buddy is currently in foster car at Hampton Park.
Medical notes
Cat calicivirus in Buddy as a kitten, which he has recovered from, will very occasionally cause Buddy to have inflammation of the mouth, easily treatable with antibiotics from the vet.
It is not a painful condition for him, it doesn't stop him eating or impede any of his usual behaviour but does give him bad breath sometimes. This clears up with antibiotics.
