About Sue
Sweet Sue was rescued by my husband along with Digby (adopted) and Pomme, listed separately. They are failed working dogs who had to make way for their replacements - it’s hard to contemplate what their fate could have been.
Sue is a short haired Border Collie, she is not meant to be long haired, but is still straight Border Collie.
Failed working dogs generally make wonderful pets - because they didn’t make the grade as working dogs it may mean they lacked the necessary drive to herd stock or were simply not interested in working in hot conditions for days on end, perhaps they preferred more comfort than could be afforded them in a working environment. Any of these reasons are not detrimental to them becoming wonderful companions.
Sue was part of a team of working dogs, so she knows how to get along with others. Since being here in foster care, Sue really enjoys playing with the other dogs, then chilling at the back door or under a shady tree, soaking up the coolness. She’s a good girl on the leash, as soon as you stop walking, she either sits or lies down, waiting for the walk to resume. She stays in the house yard and isn’t an escape artist. Sue’s just a very sweet girl to have around and will have only moderate exercise requirements. She’s an attentive girl who watches you to see what is required of her next.
Because Sue has never been an only dog, we would love to find her a home with at least one other dog.
She’s in care at Moree, NSW. Moree has daily flights to Sydney and further afield. Dog road transport is another option.
Medical notes
Microchipped, vaccinated and desexed.
