About Bindi ~ 5 year old Boxer x (on trial 19/3/19)
This sweet girl is Bindi. She is a 5 year old Boxer x who is the most gentle, loving girl. She is a medium sized dog and weighs around 25kg. Bindi absolutely loves the beach and is cat friendly.
Bindi is a special girl who will need to go to a special home. Upon arrival into care it was discovered that she has hip dysplasia and arthritis at the top of the hip. While her dreams of being an athlete have been dashed she is however enjoying the quiet life. She is very much a homebody and loves to lay about the house. It is recommended that she go to a home without steps so as to not put extra pressure on her hips. The vets have said she isn’t experiencing any pain and maintenance will involve mobility dog food and not overdoing exercise.
Bindi has learnt to sit for food and can shake hands on command. She is low energy and doesn’t dig, jump or try to escape. She is very quiet and will not bark unless there is an intruder. Bindi loves to spend her time laying around the house or playing with her foster brother and female foster puppy. Her lovable nature means she enjoys cuddles, pats and shadowing her humans around the house. Her perfect home would be with someone who is home most of the time as she is very human orientated and would make the ideal companion. Alternatively, she would be happy with another dog for company in a working family home. Bindi is wonderful with children and would be good with any age group. She adores everyone she comes into contact.
Bindi is excellent in the car, she is both calm and quiet during trips. She loves going places with her humans and has had many trips to the dog park when she enjoys the attention and pats. Bindi is used to off-leash areas and likes to stay close. She has great recall and comes when called. She will happily walk beside you out the front without a lead as her only desire is to be with her humans.
Bindi is dog social and has shown to be very affectionate towards both male and female dogs. She is currently in care with a young 4 month old pup who she is very patient with, allowing the puppy to climb all over her and chew on her face. She has had many puppies in her past life and has taken on a gentle motherly role with the other dogs in her current foster home.
Bindi has been an inside dog and will need to continue to be included in family life inside. She has been toilet trained and currently sleeps in her basket in her carers’ room. She is not as interested in being in the yard unless her family is outside. This loving girl is just the perfect companion and if you are looking for a relaxed, loving dog to watch movies with and cuddle on the couch, Bindi is the one for you.
