About Ash ~ 2 year old Kelpie X (on trial 9/2/19)
Here is one dog that will steal your heart and maybe never give it back! Ash is a 2 year old Kelpie X. He is a loving, calm and gentle boy who loves long walks on the beach, cuddles and playing with his toys. He also enjoys the finer things in life, such as a good pat and playing with his doggy friends and foster humans.
Ash loves hanging out with his doggy sister but would be happy to laze around on his own and wait for his parents to come home from work and play with him too.
Ash gets along great with other dogs but hasn't been tested with cats or pocket pets.
Ash had a bit of a rough start in life so will need someone who will be patient and continue to teach him that not all people are scary. When he first came into care, Ash was very timid and shy to start but eventually warms up with treats and time. Once he trusts you, you will have gained a friend for life.
Ash has shown us how clever he is. He knows basic commands and is keen to learn new tricks. He loves going on adventures, is great walking on the lead and his is very settled on long car rides. He is also toilet and doggy door trained. Ash is not a barker and is unresponsive to his neighbour dog trying to start a bark off.
Ash does require some extra attention due to his epilepsy bit with his daily medication, his seizures are under control. Ash needs someone who is willing to show him that extra bit of love and care and we are sure he will show all of that love plus more in return.
Ash would be fine as an only dog if you don't work away from home, but if you work full time, Ash would like to have a canine companion for company. Preferably a dog of similar size or bigger. During the day, when we are at work, Ash and his foster brother have toys to keep them stimulated.
Ash is mainly an inside dog but will need a yard that is fully fenced and sheltered. He would love a family that would let him snuggle up inside and be right in on all the family fun.
Ash would be best suited to a family with kids who are older due to the patience he needs to settle into a family. He thrives in an environment where he feels at home and as much as his foster family love him, he would love somewhere he can settle and stay forever.
