1) General - Mini Poodle Maltese Shih Tzu
- Good with Other Dogs
- Not Good With Cats
- Good with Kids + 12 yrs if visiting
- Toilet Trained
- Size 4.5 kgs
2) Likes, Dislikes, Fears, Endearments and Quirks
Jill, the adorable young Mini Poodle Maltese Shih Tzu, is playful, smart, perceptive and affectionate - huge personality wrapped up in a teeny tiny body.
Jill is a dependant on having love and attention and can be a little demanding if ignored.
She doesn't like anyone to play with her tail.
3) Ideal Owner
Singles or couples home more often than not looking for an adorable companion - willing to commit for the next 15 years or more. Empty nesters would be perfect.
Jill should get along with visiting dogs but would prefer to be the only permanent dog in the home as she likes all the attention and can get jealous. When she is so young and cute why should she compromise?
Any kids should be 12 years or older and only if gentle, quiet and calm around dogs. No dog likes to be rough housed.
As this Mini Poodle Maltese Shih Tzu is people orientated she needs to be part of family activities.
Jill will not suit homes with residents that are:
- very young, frail, elderly,
- renters
- in apartments or
- full time workers or time poor.
4) Tolerance to Being Alone During the Day
Will alert to something strange but is not currently a nuisance barker.
Jill will suit any of the following:
- Someone home more often than not.
- Empty nesters still active and fit.
5) Exercise Requirements
Medium - playful and moderately active.
6) When ON a lead ...
Like most dogs she starts off pulling but settles.
7) When OFF a lead ...
Stays close by and comes when called.
Type of Yard Required
- Medium to large interesting and secure.
- May take advantage of an open gate and wander off but does not usually try and escape.
- No apartments.

Adoption details
ADOPTION PROCESS (simple and easy)
1. Read the dog's detailed profile thoroughly - for you to self screen
2. The Expression of Interest (EOI) form MUST be completed prior to a meet and greet.
https://www.dogadoption.org.au/expression-of-interest---adoption.html
3. Speak to the carer/owner directly for more detailed info to determine if there are any 'deal breakers' - designed to save time and avoid falsely raising hopes.
4. 'Meet & Greet' - you travel to where the dog is. If you have a current dog it must meet too. We strongly recommend all members of the family attend. Both parties may wish to report their thoughts to each other but MUST update Dog Adoption directly too.
5. The dog MUST not be taken on the day unless PRIOR ARRANGEMENTS have been made e.g. travelling more then 2 hrs round trip. In this case we need a minimum of 2 days notice. The adoption agreement and payment must be made before collection of the dog.
6. Normally, both parties have a think about the meeting, and if they wish to proceed, the adoption is completed after the adoption agreement, payment and screening is finalised.
7. A 2 week cooling off period commences once the dog arrives.
