About Owen ~ Foxhound X (on trial 4/3/2019)
Meet Owen! A 6 week old Foxhound X puppy. One of two boys in this litter and a boy who knows his place amongst his sisters. His soft ears and excess skin make him pawfect for cuddles. He'll sneak in a lick too.
The floppy ears and tri coloured cuteness will draw you in, but this very energetic breed is going to need some diligent training and understanding of their personalities in order to thrive in a family environment. Foxhounds are hunters and can become very distracted once on a scent trail. They will need a more than average amount of exercise and won’t be adopted to small yards or courtyards.
On the plus side, they are very loyal, make great adventure buddies and are a sturdy low maintenance dog.
This playful critter will grow up to be a medium - large dog. We always recommend puppy-training classes to give your new family member the best start in life. All dogs and puppies need plenty of affection, exercise, and training.
Owen loves playing outside but need lots of interaction with his family and to sleep inside while little. He will need good fencing and will not go to rural fencing (eg: mesh or wire).
Owen is not yet desexed and only available for adoption to Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and Port Stephens because he'll need to be returned to our vet for desexing when he is approximately 5 months old.
For more information or to meet this long eared lady, please contact his foster carer Kelly via email adoptmefromkelly@hotmail.com You can also fill out the adoption questionnaire here https://tinyurl.com/drnadopt
Owen's adoption fee is $600 and includes desexing, vaccinations and microchipping. He has been treated for fleas and worms.
