About Arlo
Introducing Arlo, 18 mths old, Dalmatian/Cattle Dog X, desexed male.
This boy is crying out for a large, rough and tumble family to make him their own! For a young boy he is very well adjusted, seems to take everything in his stride, loves car trips and exploring new places. He has bags of energy but is happy to settle if his people are near. Gets on well with my female dogs, no food/toy aggression, good with kids although may be unintentionally too boisterous for very young children.
Works well for food rewards, easy to train for the basics. Pulls a bit on the lead but nothing that can't be worked on. Seems curious about birds but that's it. No other reaction. Untested on cats. Clean in the house but needs to learn good house etiquette as he obviously hasn't been used to it....doesn't have any concept of personal space when you are eating! Plus thinks food on dining table is fair game! Just needs gentle education and he'd be good as inside or outside dog.
No barking, chewing or digging that we've seen. He doesn't mind us leaving him although he still has doggy company then.
Has a bit of a sensitive stomach so needs a good quality dry food.
Really this dog has no issues beyond being young and inexperienced. Would be an awesome dog for a family with lots of time and energy for him. Someone should give him a home - will be the best thing they ever do!
Meet and Greets happening soon. Adoption price $300. Available after 2 February for a 14 day trial with a $50 fully refundable deposit if things don’t work out.
Adoption details
Fraser Coast Animal Rescue house all our dogs in care with foster carers in family homes. This allows the dogs to experience life in family situations with other dogs, cats, children, chooks and various other domestic animals. This gives us an opportunity to discover their traits and personalities, likes and dislikes, and which dogs would suit which family dynamics.
We offer a 14 day trial period for all potential adoptees so they can see if the dog they have chosen is a fit with their family situation. There is a $50 refundable deposit paid on the commencement of the trial period, which comes off the balance of the adoption fee should you wish to formally adopt your chosen dog. If you decide that the dog doesn't fit with your family, the dog will be returned into foster care, and the full balance of the deposit is refunded to you with no fees or charges.
If you wish to arrange a meet and greet with one of our dogs in care, please call Dianne on 0400346347 or email dianne.north@hotmail.com
The committee and carers of Fraser Coast Animal Rescue are all volunteers, so please be patient with us if we don't answer your enquiries straight away.
