About Lucy ~ 15 month old Staffy x (on trial 21/3/19)
Calling all Staffy lovers … and anyone else looking for a fun loving doggo. This is Lucy, a fun loving, energetic bundle of joy who is only 15 months old and needs a new home/family who will give her lots of love, exercise and more training.
Dog Rescue Newcastle are helping Lucy’s family find her a new one and even though they love her very much, unfortunate circumstances have seen them unable to give Lucy the life that she and they feel she should have, especially long term, given she’s a young dog.
Lucy is your typical happy-go-lucky Staffy who loves your attention and is full of energy. Having said that though, once Lucy has burnt of her energy and that doesn’t take long, she will plonk herself down, spread out like a frog and pant with a smile on her face and her tongue hanging out. Can you picture it?
Lucy needs a committed owner who will exercise and play with her regularly and who will implement training. She’s a strong dog with a lot of energy, so lead walking won’t be enjoyable unless training is fostered.
She can be a bit jumpy with excitement when she sees you or meets someone new, but again this can be trained out of her and she’d probably be suited to older kids. She is good with kids and has been around them since a puppy, but it’s just her excitement and her love for a pat that gets the better of her and might cause her to knock a little one over.
Lucy is currently living with another female dog who is a lot older than she is and she is tolerant of Lucy and they do play but will put her in her place if she gets a bit too much and Lucy will walk away and give it a rest. The resident cat, however, is not her friend and Lucy will run and hide from it. If there is to be another dog in Lucy’s new home a meet and greet is essential to see that they both get along. She would also be fine as an only dog, provided she gets to be a part of the family and not just an accessory for the backyard.
Lucy is used to sleeping inside at night but does spend the daytime outside. She is toilet trained and will stand at the door to let you know that she needs to do her thang. She’s also not an unnecessary barker and typically only barks to let you know that someone has turned up.
There’s not much else to say about Lucy, other than she will make you laugh and smile. Being a young dog, Lucy has so much potential to shine and with the right loving home and a committed effort to making her shine, Lucy will be a fantastic family dog or companion.
If you feel that you can love Lucy just as much as her current owners, have a safe and secure yard and open doors to your home as well as a commitment to making her shine, please contact Olivia at horvat13@gmail.com Lucy is located in Greta, Hunter Valley, NSW and is available for adoption interstate.
