About Harlow
Harlow is very well behaved and very loving. She sits at your feet desperately staring up for attention and then will raise her paw to get your attention. She is very gentle but persistent in her attempts to make you adore her- and everyone does. She gets along very well with other dogs, cats, children and people. So far we are having trouble finding fault with her- shes darn near perfect.
Medical notes
Harlow had an extensive list or surgeries required when arrived with us. She had a screw tail that was hurting her which has been amputated, her eyes had entropion which has also been surgically corrected. Ectopic cilia were also found which are eyelashes pointing the wrong direction and irritating her eyes, we have corrected all that could be found at the time but this does not guarantee more may not come up. Her soft palate has been shortened, her nostrils widened and she has been speyed, vaccinated and all parasite preventatives done (heartworm flea tick and intestinal worms). Whew, she was a fixer upper but she's worth it.
She will also be at risk of brachycephalic airway syndrome as she is a brachycephalic breed. We have tried to help prevent this by having her soft palate shortened and her nostrils widened BUT THIS DOES NOT MEAN SHE IS CURED. She may need further surgery management in the future but this is her breed not her in particular. The condition is managed by environmental modification, medical management and surgical management. Her breed makes her susceptible and we cannot change that. We expect you to have fully researched this condition and spoken to your vet before applying for Harlow. She has never had an episode that we know of.
